Hi,

did you see / know a way to detect the USB device which is used by a usb/serial Port?

Example:
This is the USB device:
0 Device : Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm Port
  > Vid : 1659 Pid : 8963
  > iId : USB\VID_067B&PID_2303\6&2C7C3A2&0&1

This is the USB / serial Port:
Port    : COM8  -  COM8 (Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm Port)
  > Reg : SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Enum\USB\VID_067B&PID_2303\6&2c7c3a2&0&1\Device Parameters
  > Iid : USB\VID_067B&PID_2303\6&2C7C3A2&0&1

My first thought was to use the InstanceID. In the above sample it´s the same. But if you use FTDI Chips the InstanceIDs differ.

Any idea?
